In practice, the surgeon planning your procedure, the radiologist reading your scan and the physician managing your recovery all see the same images. No disc, no courier, no repeat scan.

What we can see, and how
Interventional Radiology
The interventional suite runs a current-generation x-ray system that can image small moving structures clearly, which is what neuro interventions need. Radiologists use it to diagnose and to plan the route of treatment.
MRI Scanning
Newer MRI hardware and software mean routine scans are quicker and sharper than they used to be. For patients, shorter scans mean a shorter visit.
CT Scanning
Our CT gives precise images at lower doses of contrast and radiation, which matters for sensitive patients, the seriously ill, and anyone with reduced kidney function.
Mammogram Technology
High-quality mammography at low radiation doses. The unit also serves the SJF Breast Centre on campus.

Radiology bookings go through the department directly on 011 593 4499. Please bring your referral, your ID and your medical aid card. If your procedure needs authorisation, see pre-admission first.
